The Albanese Labor Government has not been upfront with Australians about ISIS Brides held in Syrian detention camps.
The Prime Minister, the Home Affairs Minister and the Foreign Affairs Minister have repeatedly claimed the Government is “doing nothing to repatriate or assist” the ISIS Brides.
How can that be true when reports indicate Australian officials have been in the Al Roj camp conducting DNA testing for the obvious purpose of confirming identities and preparing individuals for travel to Australia?
The Government also says any Australian citizen who applies for a passport is entitled to receive one.
That is not correct.
An application for a passport can be refused on national security grounds.
So why is the Government issuing passports and providing support to this cohort, and how can it claim it is not assisting repatriation?
These are people who chose to go to Syria to support the ISIS death cult – a listed terrorist organisation that inspired the Bondi terrorist attack.
If one of the ISIS Brides cohort warrants a Temporary Exclusion Order, it makes no sense that others do not.
The Albanese Government is not taking the safety of Australians seriously.
