Anthony Albanese has again dudded Tasmanians today in a ministerial reshuffle that leaves our State with one less voice at the decision making table.

This is yet another example in a long list of failings to Tasmanians since the Albanese Labor Government came to power. They have:

  • Ripped out $240 million of our GST payments for the Hobart stadium while giving Jim Chalmers’ electorate a new stadium free of charge and their Labor mates in Queensland an extra $3.5 billion in tax-free payments.
  • Caved to extreme environmental activists and are reviewing aquaculture licenses on the West Coast, throwing into doubt the future of our $1 billion salmon industry. They won’t put a timeline on when this will be resolved.
  • Pulled $30 million away from the Cradle Mountain Cableway project that would have replaced buses from the visitor centre to Dove Lake.
  • Ripped $16 million from the Old Surrey Road and Massy-Greene Drive Upgrades, a VITAL freight link for truckies and the local community.
  • Reversed the successful 80-20 funding split for infrastructure projects, a MASSIVE blow to our ability to keep roads safe and update critical infrastructure projects.
  • Kept MMG miners on tenterhooks, waiting to see if Labor will approve the tailings dam. Shamefully, two years on they’re still waiting to hear from Labor.
  • Cut much-needed Medicare (free) psychology sessions from 20 to 10.
  • Thrown our Antarctic Program responsibilities in doubt, by considering handing it to their Labor mates in Western Australia instead.

This list is now likely to get even longer with one less Tasmanian minister in Canberra.

Tasmanians are struggling under the cost of living pressures already inflicted on them by Albanese’s Labor Government – and they need help. Not more and more of the same incompetence.
